When picturing animal headed gods and goddesses I first think of the Egyptian statues and paintings. And there were other ancient cultures that had animal shaped or part animal part human deities.
Or deities that could shape shift from human to animal form.
Why was it so prevalent? And why do we like to use animal names to name sports teams, use animal mascots, put their shapes in business symbols and TV commercials that are even unrelated to animals products?…
